Texas Motor Speedway is a speedway located in the northernmost portion of the U.S. city of Fort Worth, Texas – the portion located in Denton County, Texas. The reconfigured track measures 1.44 miles (2.32 km) with banked 20° in turns 1 and 2 and banked 24° in turns 3 and 4. Texas Motor Speedway is a quad-oval design, where the front straightaway juts outward slightly. The track layout is similar to Atlanta Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. The track is owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. , the same company that owns Atlanta and Charlotte Motor Speedways, as well as the short-track Bristol Motor Speedway.

Track Trivia
- Construction on Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) began in 1995.
- The first NASCAR national series race at Texas Motor Speedway was a NASCAR Xfinity Series event on April 5, 1997 – won by NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin.
- The first NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway was on April 6, 1997 – the race was won by Jeff Burton.
- In 2011, the spring NASCAR Cup Series race was moved from Sunday to Saturday night under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway. 2017 marked the first season it was moved back to a Sunday afternoon race.
- Texas Motor Speedway hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race on November 6, 2005 – won by Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards.
- The track underwent a repave between the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
- The track underwent its second repave between the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The renovation added a new layer of asphalt over the existing pavement, an expansive French drainage system on the frontstretch and backstretch and reduced the banking in Turns 1 and 2 by four degrees (now 20 degrees).
- The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs began in 2004 and Texas Motor Speedway was added to the Playoffs in 2005, replacing Darlington Raceway.
