After not racing at Auto Club Speedway last season, NASCAR returns to the two-mile speedway this week. The track surface at Auto Club is very abrasive. That, with the high horsepower and low downforce package the Cup cars will run, will cause tires to wear heavily..

Cup tech will be late afternoon/early evening today at Fontana (or tonight if on East Coast time). If you fail three times, you don’t post a qualifying speed and must make a pass through. Here is the chart of penalties depending on failures:
