any commish can pay for other players. just put their players user id# in when you donate or darren can't track it. he can track your email address if you forget to put the id# for yourself in but it takes more work. also remember, if someone has already donated in one league, they don't have to donate for the second league unless they want to.

yeah, we're done with you. you've said the same crap over and over.
you spend so much negative energy on hammering the same point on a site you don't like and don't want to be around.
Must be a relative of the father and son act from 2 or 3 years ago, anyone remember the name of that character? All he did was name call and make accusations. In case some are confused as to who I'm referring to it's danicfantastica.

I know - rather than recall - that I never said DGG would always be free. I stated everywhere from the beginning (when I first put it on fantasyracingcheatsheet.com) that you were not required to have a paid subscription to my site to play the game. There is still an always free FAN subscription to FRCS.pro

During COVID - my contract work ended and I made the decision to try to bring in my share of income into the household through FRCS and DGG.

The last 2 years that I asked for donations....1.5% of the players helped by donating through the PayPal donation button I put at the top of the site. Each of those players were credited as already paid for this 2023 season.

I was not going to bring DGG back this season. It is too much expense in time/work and expense (server, email reminders) to justify me continuing to do it. My wife can only support us for so long before I lose my feeling of manly worthiness.

My logic on the 'donation' is that I don't want to limit people from giving more by setting a fixed amount. I wanted people to have the freedom to extend their generosity if they wanted to. All of the notes with the donations those 2 years (and many this year) have been filled with 'Thanks for doing this!' and 'We appreciate you'.

When I was talked into doing the game this year (in October of 2022) and advised with a payment aspect I said - "There is no way I feel comfortable charging for the game with the issues that I know it has. It is not as user-friendly as it needs to be."

Over 50% of the players use their phone to make picks. So, in my classic ADHD mode I started re-coding day and night. Literally 10-12 hours a day - 7 days a week. When I'm in that zone there is no Monday or Friday or Sunday. All days are the same for me. I'm not asking for praise on that commitment. I thrive and was having the time of my life doing it. When it was time to go to bed - all I could think about was that I couldn't wait to get up the next day and work on it more.

I feel like the site is close to my vision. I wish I could continue to code it to completion of the 'vison' I have for it. That is why I beg (to no avail) for people to read the FAQs and not be so quick to email me. Since opening the game I am bombarded with emails that have answers in the FAQS or in front of your face if you'd take the time to look.

In regards to the terminology of 'donation' (besides what I wrote above) - as a salesman, my kids would be skinny and have worn out shoes. I freely give and hate to ask and receive. PayPal makes it super easy to create a 'donation' button. Coding a 'shopping cart' button to handle secure transactions is not in my comfort level of programming. So, because of time constraints, not wanting to limit the amount and my own timidness in 'sales' I went with the donation button and phrasing. Even to opting for the 'timid' word "requesting" as opposed to what I've now be required to put (for clarification) "requiring".

Remember when Apps started to come out on our phones? We were all like, "hell no, I'm not paying $4.99 for an app!" Which is really rather ridiculous when we all have different variations of what was spoken so elegantly above by someone (sorry I didn't look who it is - but Thank You) let a 12-pack of beer get frozen in the back of our trucks and don't cry a river and bitch about it for weeks.

@Dawg (Don) you praised me so highly against the haters a few years ago I told you I was going to print that your email and put it on my whiteboard so I could read it when people got me down. Now....I think you have the classic old-and-retired-so-now-im-going-to-write-a-strongly-worded-letter-to-everyone-that-offends-me syndrome. I didn't even know you subscribed to FRCS nor that you were doing it solely to support me in my DGG efforts. I'll refund you all the money you've spent - er, actually you described it as a donation didn't you? Make up your mind - oh and fuck you!
I made my mind up to donate to your efforts when they began. $25 for my wife and I the first two years then the Owner & Crew Chief amounts as stated. I couldn't for the life of me understand how you couldn't take my payments as going to DGG, every receipt I transaction I made went to Darren Fauth. Over $300 I donated towards your efforts. Reverse the roles and ask yourself if you wouldn't have felt slighted. I see my wife is now paid, so keep my "donations", that's what they were intended to be. This disconnect between frcs and DGG shouldn't have existed. One seems to be simply a branch of the other. At least the way I perceived it when this kicked off. This is the portions of business processes I excel at. Not the project management you originally thought. Too late now, but I could have helped. I don't want any funds returned.

The week of January 23rd, 2023 is the Soft Launch of Driver Group Game. Functionality is being completed and many changes still taking place.
my inbox got pretty busy in the 1st 16 hours with questions. REMEMBER, i'm just the humble moderator not the site creator and coder.
Darren is going to make a page on the DGG game site called DEVELPEMENT ROADMAP and have it up soon,
it'll have features and functionality being worked on. check that first before you ask tons of questions because some of the bells and whistles don't work yet.
there are also a few glitches. if you have a chrome browser on your laptop, yesterday may have been painful, but we got that figured out we think.

JUST A REMINDER - Darren has spent over 650 hours re-coding the site from the ground up over the last 3 months.
he's gonna take a break for a day or 2 after being mentally drained to get it running.
we need a little patience if possible. he's still working on it.
Try not to bitch too much for now and maybe a compliment here and there would do him some good to read them.
i got the sneak peak to help look for glitches and it's a little different than last years, but it's still pretty awesome.

instead of posting new threads for issues, let's try and keep them on this one so they'll all be easier to find in one spot.
hope you can enjoy all of his hard work.
Darren, the new site is so SICK! It's obvious that you are very talented at coding and it shows here! I already donated $10 and I feel bad that it's not enough. Guys, stop crying about paying $5 bucks to compensate this guy for HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF WORK. Think of all the crap you spend $5 on that is GONE IN A MINUTE like that Starbucks coffee or a beer at your local bar. The site is comprehensive and absolutely beautiful. Do your part and chip in. Nuff said.....

Edit
It happens when I click on league rules using Chrome/andriod
are you trying to do this as a commish for driver groups?
that's what the league rules screen does.
i'm confused what you are doing.
i can't tell darren what to look for if he doesn't know where to start.
i just went to league rules as a commish and added a driver in C group no problem.

oh my god, it's less than 14 cents a race weekend for lots of fun.
if you're in more than one league it's 7 cents, or less than 5 cents for 3 leagues times 36 weeks.
maybe people could stand on a street corner with a sign that says "will work for DGG entry fee."
when someone rolls the window down and hands you a 20 and says keep it, that'd pay for you and 3 buddies.
Well said, man....

You got that right... Hard to believe that some people are complaining about paying $5.00 for a game that last almost 9 months, must be the same type of people that don't leave a tip when the go out to eat or have a drink somewhere and if I offended anybody by saying that, GOOD, I meant to..

I have no issue with the 5 dollar donation deal, but I would like the old entry page back LOL. I suppose the improvements were in the mobile app which I don't use.

it sounds like the modification should've helped your glitch, even though it crashed the site for about 20 minutes.
are you still having problems?
I was able to get in and do what I needed to do
So looks like things are getting back to normal

Thx

Good luck this season all
Should be a great one

I like and appreciate the improvements. Site seems peppier too, although that could be because I finally have fiber out in my neck of the woods

Donation made and looking forward to the season
