Teams expect practice & qualifying in Cup next yr. Sounds like NASCAR leaning toward short (20-30 min) practice w/no adjustments allowed underneath car then straight into qualifying. Then impound for majority of events but some will have another practice. Still being finalized.

What's the point of having a practice if you can't make adjustments ??? Might as well just roll them off the truck.

It also makes a nice TV doubleheader with no conflicts with the IndyCar finale starting at 3:48p ET (12:48p PT at Long Beach) leading into the Cup race Sunday night (7:19p ET / 4:19p PT) at Vegas.

Vegas in September is hot -- for fans & competitors. So starting late afternoon locally hopefully makes it better for those there. Vegas visitors bureau pays LVMS $1.6-$1.75M a yr to have 2 tripleheaders & Cup on Sunday likely means more time fans spend in casinos over weekend twitter.com/daytight1/stat…

Alex Bowman will have all his pit crew members this week after last week he had a different front tire changer and jack man as his were out b/c of protocols ... Byron's rear tire changer who was injured in training prior to Bristol remains sidelined.

Yeley car failed a third time, passed on fourth time. Will owe a pass through and their car chief, Ty Brazeal has been ejected ..
going to the rear: Byron, Truex, Almirola, Yeley. Everyone else passed on first or second time.
