32 races to go.plenty time for harv to win 10 or 12 of them....

All kidding aside, double digits can't happen ... for any driver. There is way too much parity and skilled drivers in good cars. Besides the former big three (Harvick, Truex, Kryle) the list of drivers that could show up and win is huge. There are all 3 Penskes, Hendrick's including da champ and the 24/48/5 (2 winners here), Hamlin and recent winner Mr. Bell, SHR crew lead by Harvick (slightly weak driver lineup really but Custer is working out so far), Kurt Busch., the Childress cars 8 & 3, and ... heck Jack's Rauschketeers showed promise at Homestead with Buescher being the man for a while early. And the "restrictor plate" races are come one come all, thank you very much Mr. McDowell.

6-8 wins for anyone will be a very strong statement of dominance in my book. I'm not so sure anyone will get more than 6 though. I'll call 5.5 my over under number for most wins this year. Elliot is my most wins favorite.

With the number of Road races scheduled: Elliot, Truex, and Blaney will probably have multiple wins. As for SHR- once you get past Harvick there isn't much for drivers to choose from and the first 4 races haven't really been his strength, but still had 3 top ten finishes only McDowell can match him.

I can see some low scores for me this year.

Yes it can and it about did last year.harv should have won 14 races last year alone.he has been capable of doin it last 5 or 6 seasons.many of the last 5 seasons or so he easily should had 10 or more wins each year but alot happened by the end of races to secure it.look how many races he dominated then blew tires, late caution, pit penalty, ect. and didn't get the win.I'd say 30 to 40 more wins than what he has now.its been insaine how good he has been..

Let's go in the opposite direction. How many different winners will there be this year? Is more than 16 possible?
I'll say 13-maybe 14 at the most
SHR-1 driver
Hendrick--4 drivers
Gibbs--4 drivers
Penske-- 3 drivers
Front Row-1 driver
That = 13 and there maybe 1 more surprise somewhere ( Dega, Daytona or Road Course) Dillon on a 1 1/2 mile.

I agree on both counts! However, I’ll save my #4 picks for when I have more confidence! It’s a long season!
I happened to be listening on Harvick's radio last week at LV and his crew chief Rodney Childers actually apologized to Harv for him having to drive such an awful car. He said as a company they need to get better. I think I'll save my SHR starts until they do just that.

tech for Cup teams is this afternoon/early evening and they cannot work on the car (except to get it through tech) after it goes through tech this afternoon/early evening.

Power Rankings After Las Vegas
BY
PETE PISTONE MARCH 9, 2021 AT 10:20 AM

Pete Pistone’s NASCAR Cup Series Power Rankings after the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
1. Denny Hamlin - Consistency has been Hamlin’s calling card in the early going and it was again on display Sunday in Las Vegas. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver knocked down fourth- and third-place finishes in the first two stages before posting a fourth in the fourth race of the 2021 season.
Driver Rating: 110.5
Point Standings: 1st
Previous Ranking: 1st
2. Kyle Larson - It took just four races at Hendrick Motorsports for Larson to find Victory Lane as he won the Pennzoil 400 for his first NASCAR Cup Series triumph since 2019. Larson led six times for 103 laps on his way to career win number nine, his first on a 1.5-mile track.
Driver Rating: 109.8
Point Standings: 3rd
Previous Ranking: 8th
3. Chase Elliott - Had a fast car but a slide down the backstretch took Elliott out of contention for a win. The best he was able to do was battle his way back from that adversity to end up 13th overall.
Driver Rating: 98.4
Point Standings: 4th
Previous Ranking: 2nd
4. William Byron - Followed up his Homestead-Miami Speedway win with a solid outing in Las Vegas. Byron posted top-10 finishes in the first two stages, including a fourth in Stage 2. He took the checkered flag eighth.
Driver Rating: 94.4
Point Standings: 11th
Previous Ranking: 4th
5. Christopher Bell - A very solid outing for Bell in Las Vegas that saw him stay inside the top 10 in both the opening pair of stages as well as his seventh-place overall finish.
Driver Rating: 97.1
Point Standings: 5th
Previous Ranking: 5th
6. Martin Truex Jr. - The Joe Gibbs racing driver has finished top 10 in the last six 1.5 mile races, the longest current streak in the Cup Series. Truex Jr. brought his Toyota home to a sixth-place finish on Sunday.
Driver Rating: 96.7
Point Standings: 8th
Previous Ranking: 7th
7. Kevin Harvick - A miserable day for Harvick who had high hopes given his past Las Vegas Motor Speedway success. He started from the pole but battled a multitude of challenges throughout the afternoon to eventually post a disappointing 20th-place finish.
Driver Rating: 94.5
Point Standings: 7th
Previous Ranking: 6th
8. Michael McDowell - His streak of top-10 finishes came to an end Sunday for McDowell, who drove to a 17th-place performance for Front Row Motorsports.
Driver Rating: 82.4
Point Standings: 9th
Previous Ranking: 3rd
9. Brad Keselowski - Scored his 11th top 10 in the last 12 races at Las Vegas and turned in his best finish this season with a second place Pennzoil 400 performance.
Driver Rating: 99.4
Point Standings: 2nd
Previous Ranking: NR
10. Joey Logano - His bid for three straight Pennzoil 400 wins came up short in a day that saw Logano drop back in the middle of the race only to rally for a ninth-place Las Vegas finish.
Driver Rating: 99.8
Point Standings: 6th
Previous Ranking: 10th
Dropped Out: Kurt Busch

Too much cleanup on the track to do a friction test before sundown last night. They will check the friction of the traction compound this morning and then make a final decision but sounds like NASCAR doesn’t plan to put more traction compound down.
