Since 2017, NASCAR has broken every race into three separate stages with caution breaks at the end of stages 1 and 2. This will no longer be the case at road courses.

Stage points will still be awarded but there will be no break in the racing. NASCAR says this change is to improve pit strategy scenarios.

This change impacts races at the Charlotte Roval, Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Sonoma, Chicago Street Course, and Indianapolis road course.

Tracks that have races in the NASCAR Xfinity and Craftsman Truck series but not the NASCAR Cup Series (Mid-Ohio, Portland, and Road America) will not be impacted by this.

Just something many may not be aware of--myself I wish it would be like that at all tracks. More racing and fewer commercials.

NASCAR suspends Josh Williams for one race for parking his car at start-finish line & getting out in protest of NASCAR call at Atlanta. Williams will miss COTA & return at Richmond. TBD on playoff eligibility as he has to apply for waiver. Got to think waiver would be granted.

No fine, no points deduction for Josh Williams. He will serve a 1-race suspension.

Chevrolet would still be allowed to use the Camaro in 2024 if it chooses to do so since it will be in production in 2024 and rule is production vehicle must be sold during the race season. What Chevrolet eventually will run in NASCAR to replace the Camaro is TBD/TBA.
