the points deduction means all Hendrick cars other than Byron will be "must win" to make the chase because of being so far down the points ladder.
this is huge. kyle larson now has less points that cody ware.

Sounds like the changing to the entrance to pit road could be a issue this week....
So when picking drivers this week, do you now do it like Smashtona & Dega ??
Considering last year at Atlanta there were 19 cautions between the 2 races here, not counting stage and debris cautions...
Race #1 - 8 cautions involving 30 cars (some multiple times).. 23 cars on the lead lap at end of race..

The NASCAR pit road at Atlanta is now approx 3965 feet (with width of the apron, could vary by 100 feet).
Added from Turn 3-Turn 4: 2314 feet
Existing pit road: 1651 feet
Just running pit road speed from yellow line to yellow line: 54-60 seconds.

After much consideration I’ve decided that I will appeal the decision by NASCAR to penalize me. What happened on Sunday was common hard racing that happens each and every weekend. There was also no manipulation of the race nor actions detrimental to the sport.
